<trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
<title>Background</title><p>Background. Protein-calorie deficiency is common multifactorial medical condition in infants. Nutrition therapy of protein-calorie deficiency in premature infants with special medical food is not always quite effective. It can be associated with residual manifestations of overlapping perinatal pathology.</p><p>Clinical case description. Extremely premature child with severe protein-calorie deficiency in the late period with combined perinatal pathology (perinatal central nervous system damage and bronchopulmonary dysplasia) was administrated with therapeutic highly nutritious (high-protein/high-energy) milk formula according to individual plan. The positive dynamics in clinical manifestations of the main and associated diseases was noted on nutrition therapy.</p>
<title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. High-calorie and protein-enriched therapeutic formula can effectively correct protein-calorie deficiency in premature infants with associated perinatal pathology in the recovery period (disfunction compensation). </p>
</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>белково-энергетическая недостаточность</kwd><kwd>недостаточность питания</kwd><kwd>недоношенные</kwd><kwd>бронхолегочная дисплазия</kwd><kwd>перинатальная патология</kwd><kwd>лечебное питание</kwd><kwd>клинический случай</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>protein-calorie deficiency</kwd><kwd>malnutrition</kwd><kwd>premature</kwd><kwd>bronchopulmonary dysplasia</kwd><kwd>perinatal pathology</kwd><kwd>nutrition therapy</kwd><kwd>clinical case</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Статья опубликована при финансовой поддержке компании «Нутриция Эдванс».</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The article was funded by Nutricia Advance.</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Schwatzenberg SJ, Georgieff MK.
