В статье представлены данные отечественных и зарубежных исследований о распространенности железодефицитной анемии и латентного дефицита железа. Обсуждаются существующие возможности лабораторной диагностики, особенности  течения, отдаленные последствия и современные принципы терапии железодефицитных состояний у детей раннего возраста.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Iron deficiency still presents an urgent problem in pediatrics. The paper presents both foreign and domestic data on prevalence of iron deficiency anemia and latent iron deficiency and methods of laboratory diagnostics of these states.
