Рассматриваются вопросы рационального подхода к лечению заболеваний, сопровождающихся кашлем, у детей. Отмечена необходимость учета особенностей заболевания, механизмов действия используемых лекарственных средств и их возможных нежелательных эффектов, а также индивидуальных особенностей пациента. Показана высокая эффективность и безопасность фитопрепаратов в лечении болезней органов дыхания у детей. Предложен алгоритм выбора препаратов, влияющих на кашель.
