В исследование было включено 115 детей в возрасте от 2 до 16 лет: в основную группу вошло 75 детей, лечившихся ритуксимабом, в группу сравнения — 40 больных, получавших метотрексат в средней дозе. Терапия ритуксимабом оказалась достоверно эффективней, чем метотрексатом в стандартных дозах. Отчетливое улучшение у детей, лечившихся ритуксимабом, наблюдалось уже через 12 нед. В эти сроки у 90% больных купировались опасные для жизни системные проявления, снизились активность суставного синдрома и лабораторные показатели. Через 24 нед наблюдалось достоверное снижение активности болезни, улучшение функциональной способности суставов и снижение степени инвалидизации детей. У 25% пациентов была зарегистрирована стадия неактивной болезни.
