ALTERATION OF THERMAL BALANCE. A FEVER

Abstract

The series of lectures present the data on typical syndromes of organism’s thermal balance alterations: hyperthermic and hypothermic states. Present lecture analyzes an etiology (including the data on initial and secondary pyrogens), key components of mechanism of development and manifestation, information on temperature curves, changes of metabolism and organs’ function, on adaptive and pathogenic effects of fever reactions. Authors give a data on mechanisms of fever and principles and methods of its etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic treatment.
Key words: pyrogens, cytokines with pyrogenic activity, thermogenesis, nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs.
