CHILDREN’S COUGH

Abstract

Coughing is one of the most common reasons why parents seek for a pediatrician’s advice. The most frequent cause of cough in children are acute respiratory infections, but it can also appear against the background of non-infectious nature as well as drug side effect or due to alien object aspiration. Thorough examination and differentiation diagnosis are the cornerstones of making anticough treatment choice allowing to achieve maximum results in short terms, avoiding unnecessary use of medications. This review contains descriptions of main cough reasons as well cough treatment pediatric guidelines.
