Abstract
The article illustrates results from a study of the quality of life of adolescents aged 15–17 living in a closed administrative territorial unit (town of Ozersk) using the questionnaire PedsQL 4.0. It describes the questionnaire survey of 309 children and their parents with the comparison group made up of 298 families from a nearby town. On the whole, no differences were identified in the overall assessment of quality of life indicators in both groups, which indicates there is no impact of a specific town on this category of population.
Key words: adolescents, quality of life, closed administrative territorial unit.

Abstract
Authors examined 62 children with gastroesophageal reflux (GER), 39% of these children were in pre-pubertal period (9–12 years old) and 61% — in pubertal period (13–17 years old). Electrogastrography (EGG) performed in the morning on an empty stomach during 15–20 min showed that children 9–12 years old predominantly have tachigastria (5.8 ± 2.4 cycle/min). In children 13–17 years old bradigastria (1.6 ± 1.0 cycle/min) was more common (in 68% of children). Amplitude of waves in children 9–12 years old was similar to hyperkinetic type of EGG (55.4 ± 15/7 mm). 68% of children 13–17 years old had hypokinetic type of EGG with wave amplitude 18.4 ± 7.5 mm. Thus, the study showed that disorders of motoric function of stomach are different in different age. Children in pre-pubertal period have hyperkinetic activity or gastric muscles, and in pubertal period GER is characterized by low frequency and amplitude of gastric contractions.

Abstract
The objective of present research was studying of influence of co-enzyme Q10 (Kudesan) on cardiovascular system in children with myocardial dystrophy (MCD). Patients were divided on two comparable groups (n = 20 and n = 28) according to clinical symptoms of MCD, changes on electrocardiogram (ECG) and results of echocardiography. Patients received non-drug means (massage, physical training in treatment regimen, psycho- and reflexotherapy) and vasoactive, nootropic and sedative medications; patients from 2nd group were additionally treated with co-enzyme Q10 during 4 weeks. It was shown that inclusion of co-enzyme Q10 in complex treatment of MCD resulted in beneficial effect on self-feeling of child, favored to disappearance of repolarization disorders on ECG and increase of ejectional fraction. Thus, using of co-enzyme Q10 in complex treatment of children with MCD is reasonable.

Abstract
Infections of airways are one of significant causes of morbidity in children. Approximately 70% of infections affect upper airways, ear, nose and throat. The problem is special for children with allergic pathology because any intercurrent virus disease can cause exacerbation of allergy. Open uncontrolled study of effectiveness of pidotimod in children with combined forms of allergy (bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis) and severe acute respiratory disease was performed in 2008–2010 in Novosibirsk. Pidotimod as a component of complex treatment decreased trigger role of infections and eased clinical course of main disease. This drug decreased the rate of relapses and load of medications in patients.
Key words: children with frequent diseases, immunomudulators, pidotimod.

Abstract
Hyperthermia is the key symptom of acute respiratory infections (ARI). An increase in the body temperature is accompanied with phagocytosis activation, increased interferon synthesis, antibody genesis stimulation, lymphocytes activation and differentiation. Nevertheless, significant hyperthermia may result in my unfavourable consequences. It may particularly cause an exacerbation of chronic diseases. Modern therapy for hyperthermia is, therefore, an important aspect of treating children with ARI. The article outlines the modern approach to treating fever in children, identifies key criteria for selecting a medication. It also contains a case study of applying ibuprofen and data from various trials which verify the rationale for applying ibuprofen in children with hyperthermia that developed in conjunction with ARI.
Key words: children, acute respiratory infections, hyperthermia, ibuprofen.

Abstract
One of the largest risk groups of hypovitaminosis development are children with prolonged gastroenterological diseases. This problem is significant in infants, because they can develop prolonged enterocolitis conditioned by opportunistic micro flora which results in severe dysbacteriosis, delay of development and beginning of dystrophy. Normal micro flora is one of the sources of vitamins (especially B group). Besides, inflammation in intestine results in disorder of digestion and absorption processes, and it can break metabolism of different nutrients. Authors present results of treatment of organic intestinal diseases with syrup «Picovit».
Key words: children, enterocolitis, polyvitamins.

Abstract
Children’s skin under nappy needs special defense from irritative action of urine and faeces and, therefore, prophylaxis of nappy dermatitis is necessary. It means that disposable nappy absorbing faeces and urine and special staff for skin cleaning should be used. There are several factors conductive to dermatitis: prolonged irritation with excrements, change of skin pH or increase of its hydratation and disorders of skin micro flora. During last decades there is a significant progress in understanding of these factors, and it resulted in production of more and more perfect stuff for defense of children’s skin. Improved design of nappies and development of pH-buffer wipes for babies increased the quality of skin care.

Abstract
Atopic dermatitis (AtD) is one of the most widespread types of allergic lesions of skin in children. Increase of severe types of AtD with lesion of big parts of skin, high frequency of exacerbations, presence of concomitant atopic diseases, and inefficiency of standard therapeutic approaches, torpid clinical course and early development of disability, causes an anxiety. Present standard approaches can be ineffective in children with severe clinical course of AtD and they are not able to prevent progression of disease, development of severe exacerbations and child’s disability. One of therapeutic alternatives for these patients is treatment with immunosuppressive agents. The article describes questions of treatment with cyclosporine in systemic therapy of severe resistant forms of AtD in children. Author discusses effectiveness and safety of a drug, formulated rules of treatment of severe AtD with cyclosporine.

Abstract
The article presents a case report of severe polyarticular juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) resistant to treatment with corticosteroids and classic immunosuppressive agents. Authors describe successful treatment with genetically engineered biological agent — infliximab in patient with early arthritis (duration of disease in less than two years): at 1st week of treatment pain and morning stiffness were stopped, and exudative lesions of joint significantly decreased. Inactive phase of disease was reached in 6 weeks, and movements in 8 of 9 joints were restored. Oral prednisolone was stopped. This case report shows high effectiveness of infliximab in patient with early JRA. Therapeutic treatment of early stages of disease before development of irreversible osteocartilaginous destruction with blocker of tumor necrotizing factor is very perspective.
Key words: children, early juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, treatment, infliximab.
